Doug Urquhart started at Electra in 1985 as a trainee camera assistant and progressed on to the grade of sound recordist.

Working with all formats of tape from the old 1" and BVU, he has seen the advent of digital media progress to its current state. The introduction of high definition has made this knowledge invaluable.

Having been a recordist for around twelve years, he moved into the office to run the facility side of the company. This, in conjunction with having two small mouths to feed, led to Doug giving up shooting in exotic locations, and planting himself firmly in front of his computer!
